| Corrosion and scaling caused by industrial recycling cooling water are the main factors affecting heat exchange efficiency and equipment lifetime. Traditional monitoring technologies, such as coupon and heat exchanger monitoring method, are data invisible, have long response time, cannot show the fluctuation in corrosion rate, and especially cannot monitor with real-time. So they cannot be used to guide the industrial operation on time. In order to operate in low corrosion rate and low fouling deposition, it is necessary to develop real-time monitoring system for industrial cooling water to detect the equipment's operation conditions at all times. In this work, a kind of on-line monitoring technique based on electrochemical measurement and heat transfer principles has been developed. It can detect the corrosion rate and realize the scaling heat resistance real-time control for industrial recycling cooling water system. In this equipment, an on-line four-channel corrosion scaling heat resistance monitor was designed based on the advanced computer technique. Through laboratory simulation, in-situ application and verification by other methods, the equipment exhibited three advantages over the traditional ones: (1) electrochemical corrosion rate could be measured under stable flow rate; (2) comprehensive evaluation on the corrosion and scaling could be achieved; (3) it had a powerful, visible data processing software and a real-time computer-monitoring function. The application in factories showed that the monitoring system could reveal the condition of the equipment and be used to guide industrial production operation. |
