Recently, the market of updating the CNC System of CNC machine tools is becoming wider and wider. This paper will illustrate a project example called development of the CNC System for the turning CT40, to research and develop the method of updating CNC system for CNC machine tools. The construction of the paper: Firstly, draw out the working steps. The steps of developing CNC System for a machine tool include: gather enough information relating to the working status of mechanism system and hydraulic system of the machine tool; select CNC System according to the employment and technology level of the machine tool; fill in the order form on the basis of deciding the details of the updating plan; debugging and machining on the customer site; training, delivering technology documents and customer service. Secondly, through the introduction of the characteristics of the Fanuc-0iB CNC system, it discusses the method of designing the electrical system and debugging the electrical and mechanical system for the machine tool. List the Fanuc system connecting diagram, the Relay Logical Circuit of the turret. Debugging the electrical and mechanical system means PLC programming and operation, initializing the system parameter, etc . Finally, the paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the methods that has been applied to the project of equip CNC unit for a machine tool.
