A new-style Gemini surfactant was synthesized in this paper. It can be used to resolve oil-displacement problem as it is low-cost and high-powered and obtain a good one to enhance oil recovery efficiently. Gemini surfactant with different spacer group was synthesized. Especially a sulfonic Gemini with its spacer group is polyoxyethylene. The surfactant is a representative anionic surfactant and has a characteristic of non-ionic surfactant. By now, the study of aggregation numbers is only limited to traditional surfactants and seldom seen on Gemini surfactants. So for the study of sulfonic Gemini surfactants, the overall results are following:1. Nonylphenol was used as raw material. With different spacer groups, such as 1,4-dibromide butane, diglycol, triglycol, polyethylene glycol 200, we firstly obtained dimer ether through SN2 reaction. Then the dimer was sulphonated with chlorosulfuric acid and neutralized using NaOH, triethanolamine respectively to obtain a serial of sulfonic Gemini surfactants with non-ionic spacer groups. The structures of these surfactants were identified by IR and NMR.2. CMC,γcmc and C20 of Gemini surfactants were studied and it was found that the Gemini surfactants were about one order of magnitude more efficient at forming micelles(CMC) than conventional surfactants and cmc turn to10-5~10-4M . Forγcmc only, Gemini surfactants didn't show great advantages over conventional monomeric ones, but it was shown from C20 that they were more efficient in declining surface tension of water.3. The emulsification capability of Gemini surfactants was investigated and compared with traditional surfactants. It was found that emulsification capability is increasing with spacer group being shorter and Gemini A1 has the best emulsification capability. The froth capability of Gemini surfactants is also measured. Result showed that the froth capability is raising and the stabilization of froth is getting better while spacer group is increasing.4. Aggregation numbers of micelle (Nm) of Gemini surfactants were determined by steady-state fluorescence probe method with pyrene as fluorescence probe and benzophenone as quencher. The effects of concentration of surfactant and NaCl on Nm were also investigated. It was found that when the solution of surfactant was prepared with a saturated aqueous solution of pyrene, the optimun...
