The main mineral of bentonite is smectites. It is a kind of clay minerals with moisture-bearing layer aluminosilicate. Bentonite resources are abundant in the world. With good physical chemistry attribute, bentonite has strong cationic exchange ability, good imbibitions ability, dispersibility, suspension property and so on. After activation and organomodifying, comparing with inorganic bentonite, organic bentonite is widely used in other fields.Generally, organic bentonite comes out from the reaction between sodium bentonite and organic modifying agent. At the present time, to produce organic bentonite, we mainly use sodium bentonite as raw material, and use cationic surfactants as something that deals with layer such as quaternary ammonium salt, alkylamine. However, less storage of nature sodium bentonite, adding high price and high use level of cationic surfactants(generally 7%-13%)will influence industry organic soil utility.During dying wastewater treatment, we mainly use adsorption treatment and polish process treatment. It is true that activated carbon and resin are regarded as ordinary sorption agent, however, their costs are high and need to be reproduced. Nature bentonite has a large surface area and produces a large surface energy, so it has a strong adsorption capacity. But in water, bentonite has a series of characteristics such as expansibility, dispersibility, suspension property. These characteristics reduce dying wastewater treatment effect, especially, reducing the separate speed of liquid-solid. And weak organic adsorption capability directly influences its practical effect. Therefore, we need to do organic-modifying before using. Through this way, we can improve the wastewater treatment effect.The thesis tries to utilize mechanochemistry method. Base on ball milling of bentonite, we add modifying agent i.e. hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide to change bentonite's appearance attribute. In the course of the experiment, by x-ray diffraction, temperature gravity analysis and scan electronic microscope to record bentonite's attribute.
