Wennan colliery of Xinwen Coal Mining Group is an old coalmine and is mining deep coal layer. Because the coal pillar between Wennan colliery and the local smaller colliery is mined illegally, the lager amount of water in the abandoned local collieries would inrush into Wennan colliery at any time. This article firstly introduces the width calculational theory of water-proof coal pillar and basic limit equation theory; then according the simulation of three-dimensional analogical material, spot actual measure and numerical calculation, it researches the stope wall rock stress incidence synthetically by analyzing the distribution of bedding plane bearing pressure and stope wall rock stress. On the basis of these theoretical studying and combining the material geology and geophysical feature in west boundary of wen nan coal mine, we use the transient electromagnetism method and find out the pillar width and discharge channel circs of roof and floor in this area by analyzing the electrical property section pictures of different position which is obtained in actual detection. At last, according the existing hydrographic and geological information and actual circs of coal mine in west boundary of wen nan coal mine, by analyzing the west coal water hazard and discharge channel and discharge amount of water-proof coal pillar in west boundary, we put forward a series of pillar managing technology in the aspects of west boundary pillar management, monitoring of the pillar' s two side water level and discharge amount and the spot management of water-proof coal pillar, these technology mainly is adjustment and control technology and take grouting plug up water technology as secondary technology, then we put forward the corresponding application layout, which has good safe and economical benefit, also takes an obvious social benefit.
