The technology of seawater electrolysis antifouling is the safe and effective method in prevented bio-fouling of cooling water system, and the technology is adverted widely. The antifouling system produces chlorine. The chlorine kills the animalcules in the seawater. Therefore, realizing the influential factors of chlorine productivity and the chlorine attenuation rule and its influential factors in the system is very important. It can optimize the system's run-parameters and improve efficiencies.We research the pattern seawater electrolysis antifouling system which is built up in the seaside of Qingdao. This article discusses the researches of the chlorine in the seawater electrolysis antifouling system.We research the method of mensurating the effective chlorine concentration fast in electrolytic seawater and choose the DPD (N, N-diethyl-1, 4phenylenediamine) spectrophotometer method and ascertain the feasibility of the method by compared with the iodic titration.We research the influential factors of chlorine productivity. In this system, chlorine productivity can be reflected direct by electric current efficiency. So the influential factors of electric current efficiency correspond with the influential factors of chlorine productivity.We research the chlorine attenuation rule in seawater circumstance and the influential factors (seawater COD, pH, light intensity, temperature, the chlorine starting concentration and SS) of the chlorine attenuation rule.The chlorine concentration of electrolytic seawater can be mensurated exactly, expediently and fast with DPD method. But there are some differences between the chlorine in seawater and in fresh water on the experimental condition. The temperature is 15℃20℃, the work curve range is 03mg/L.The opposite error with iodic titration is less than 5%, so DPD method is feasible to mensurate the chlorine concentration in seawater. If the sample isn't diluted, the salt error should be emendated. The optimum wavelength is 550 nm.
