Abstract/Summary:
The grindability of coal is an important parameter in pulverized coal utilities. The HGI is of some relativity to the coal pulverization and the particle size distribution. Several papers deal with the reason of difference HGI coals. Furthermore, combustion character test have been performed for investigating on special coals. However, the pulverization and size distribution of coal are not elaborated completely. Therefore, a project was started for additional investigation of the comminuting Mechanism. It will help to the utilities of coal.Experiments were conducted in a standard Hardgrove apparatus on several individual coals and blends prepared at various blending ratios. Meanwhile, the particle size distribution of pulverized coal was analyzed by Laser Particle Size Analyzer (Malvern 2000). In the study of individual coal, it indicates that the HGI will ascend by the raise of the ash yield. Simultaneity, the vary size of pulverized coal was segregation in proximate analysis. In the study of blends, they were mix by different rank coal with the Pingshuo coal. It was found that, the HGI of blends is disciplinarian in the section of reappearance. The HGI of the blends of bituminous- bituminous and anthracite- bituminous is fluctuation. The HGI of the blend of bituminous-lignite is always lower than there average. Otherwise, the size distribution and comminuting performance were different when they are pulverized as blends.
