Using physical and chemical methods to control and promote chemical reaction is becoming a heat point in scientific field recent years. Especially, the technique of magnetochemistry, which is combined between magnetic and chemistry field, can increase the efficiency of preparation in materials, promote the properities of materials, and it attracts many researchers of materials.Based on the new reaction system of Al-ZrOCl2, Al-Zr(CO3)2, this project is concerned on applying magnetic field to prepare metal matrix composites, especially make the combination between magnetic field and in-situ reaction to prepare the particle enforced Al matrix composites, By modern analysis method as SEM, XRD and TEM, the microstructure of composites is studied, and discusses the thermodynamics and dynamics in magnetic field. Meanwhile, the thermal expansion of composites is studied.The outcomes of experiment indicate that the magnetic field can affect the chemical reaction of Al-ZrOCl2 and Al-Zr(CO3)2 system, which can obviously promote the chemical reaction speed and reduce the reaction time. Different magnetic field has different effect on the microstructure of composites, the experiment shows that compared with HF magnetic field and LF magnetic field; there is much better microstructure of composites (high volume, fine particles and good distribution) synthesized in pulsed magnetic field. The different parameters of magnetic field, including reaction time, the intensity and gap effect of magnetic field, have been studied and we get the best craft parameters. The particles under magnetic field are mainly of circular shape, among these , the size of Al2O3 is less than 2μ m,and the size of Al3Zr is less than 10μm. The different matrix (Al-4%Cu) has been studied and it is found that the particles can fine the grain of matrix. TEM indicates that the interface between Al2O3-Al and Al3Zr-Al is clear and has no interface reaction.Based on traditional theory of thermodynamics, the reaction systems of...
