During the practical CO2 gas shield arc welding process, some complicated problems have often been encountered. If welding is operated in such condition, the wire extension will change. And the resistance of wire extension will change, it will influence the current's output and the welding current will change. So the shape and the penetration of welding bead will change, result in the lack of the penetration. So the effective autocontrol to the penetration of welding needs to be settled in CO2 gas shield arc welding process.The lack of the penetration of welding bead is a typical defect. It will do great harm to the quality and safety of the welding structure. The penetration of welding bead is hard to be checked directly in practice, so the control on the penetration of welding bead is mainly realized by adjusting the related factors. The effect of the changes of the wire extension on the penetration of welding bead is analyzed and a project of the controlling to the penetration of welding bead is established in this paper. Based on this project, a hardware control system of SCR CO2 gas shield arc welding base on microprocessor MSP430F449 was designed, and debugging had been completed. With this reliable hardware platform, the software control system of welding machine was designed.Based onμC/OS-ⅡEmbedded Real Time Operating System(RTOS), the software control program of welding machine was completed. The introduction of RTOS ensures the real time of the switch among the welding tasks. During the design of the software, the fuzzy control technique was adopted and the fuzzy control flow was designed. During the design of task, the modeling and simulation on the phase and feeder control circuit of control system in Saber was completed, which enhanced the work efficiency and reduced the experiment cost.The result of the experiment showed that the fuzzy control technology is well compensatory to the penetration of welding bead. The equivalent circuit model established in Saber is able to reflect the circuit in practice.
