By applying SEM and X radial energy spectrum , this paper analyzes the crack failure of the aldehyde rectifying tower stainless steel 00Cr17Ni14Mo3joint pipe. The result indicates that the cause of stress corrosion crack(SCC) is a great lot tiny holes and sundries in the material and the content of Mo on the low side.This paper mainly introduces the stainless steel corrosion, especially the serious accidents caused by the austenitic stainless steel stress corrosion crack. The paper introduces each kind of corrosion shape of the stainless steel, namely: the pitch corrosion, the intercrystalline corrosion, the stress corrosion crack, the weary corrosion and so on, moreover discusses their concepts, occurring conditions, influence factors, corrosion appearances, corrosion mechanisms, control measures and so on.This paper makes a key inquiry into the stress corrosion crack of Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steel, and puts forward the corresponding measures of settling the stainless steel stress corrosion crack by studying.
