Advanced composite materials have some dominant characteristics such as low weight and high strength that can compete against with the conventional materials, so it become more and more popular in the areas of aviation, spaceflight and some other areas. The types of composite materials are various, so it's difficult to manage with the date of the composite material properties. With the development of the technology, the application of the computer became more and more frequently especially apply with the data storage and query. With the application of the database technology in the process of composite materials selection, the technician could do with the materials selection easier in a little time. The main content of the paper is about the foundation of composite material database system with the main application in material selection. This thesis is arranged as follows:1. Understand the regulation of the information with enough analyzing of the composite properties, and make sure the suitable method for the data storage. Consider the complex connection of the composite material properties and the characteristic of the management of database SQL Server in the system. We define the material properties with two grades. The first one is applied with the description of the material properties and another one is applied with the description of the numerical value of the properties.2. Find the aptitude way of the data storage in the database system and make it come true. There are two databases in the system, one database is applied to describe the survey of the material properties, and another database is applied to describe the detail of the data information. The function of the two databases is corresponding with the two grades of the material properties.3. Firstly consult with the solution of the multi-objective optimization in material design and selection, catch on the method of the Ashby'solution, which supply with a way of visualizing the alternative compromise, and find out the key point of the process of the material selection. Then based on the basic mechanical properties of the composite materials and the application of the material selection, we design a method of the multi-objective optimization in the composite material...
