Attentions to the phthalocyaninatoirons are attracted in many fields, such as catalysis of oxidative desulfurisation, optical materials, fuel-cells and dyes of CD-R. Study on the spectra and stability of phthalocyaninatoirons are valuable both in theoretic study and potential applications.16 phthalocyanines, 4α(RO)H2Pc (R= 2, 4-ditertbutylphenyl, phenyl, propyl), 4α(RO)MPc (R= 2, 2, 4-trimethyl-3-Pentyl,M=Fe, Cu, Pd, Co, Ni, 2H),4α(RO)FePc (R= 2, 4-ditertbutylphenyl,phenyl,propyl),4β(RO)FePc (R= 2, 4-ditertbutylphenyl,phenyl,propyl), were synthesized by DBU method, alkoxy lithium method and the coordanition reactions of metal salt with metal free phthalocyanine. The IR, UV/Vis, MS measurements and element analysis on some of these complexes were carried out.In the study of UV/Vis spectra, it is found that, in toluene, some of phthalocyaninatoirons (especially alkoxy substituted) show a new band at about 750nm which is assigned to a complexes of phthalxocyaninatoiron with oxygen. The same phenomenon was also found when phthalocyaninatoiron reacts with benzoylperoxide. The stabilites of phthalocyanines were studied by UV/Vis spectra measurements. It is found that the stability of phthalocyanine was influenced by the axial coordination ability of center metal and the type and positions of substituents. If center metal has higher axial coordination ability, the stability of the phthalocyanine will be reduced. The donor substituents can reduce the chemical stability of phthaolocyanine. Phthalocyanine with bulky substituents is more easily to decompose. It is also found that phthalocyanines with different center metals have different decomposation procedures, and the mechanism of decomposition is inferred. The solvent effect on the stability and the thermal stability were also studied.
