Potash fertilizer is one of three kinds of absolutely necessary fertilizers in common use in agriculture. The reserve of solvable potash resources is lack and imbalance seriously in China. Comparatively, there is abundant and comprehensive resource of refractory potash mine domestic. It is an important research subject to use indissoluble ore with potassium salt to produce potash fertilizer, research new processing and extracting technology, exploit indissoluble ore with potassium salt to produce potash fertilizer with adjust measures to local and produce potash fertilizer in the course of comprehensive utilization of minerals. It is not only an effective path to solve present problems of serious lack of solvable potash resource in China, but also it can bring economic and social benefits.Occurrence state of potassium in potassium-rich zeolite and potassium-rich shale were mainly researched in this subject. By means of XRD analysis, infrared spectrum analysis, differential analysis, micropolariscope analysis and so on, phase analysis of potassium-rich zeolite and potassium-rich shale was accomplished, which validated that the zeolite sample mainly includes Clinoptilolite, associating with orthoclase and quartz, and potassium existed in clinoptilolite and orthoclase mostly. In addition, the mainly mineral in shale rock are sericite, microcline and quartz, potassium being found in sericite and microcline mostly. So there was a little solvable potassium in the two kinds of ore. Through extracting potassium experiments of potassium-rich shale, it was determined the optimum extracting conditions of potassium were as following, concentration of sulfuric acid 10mol/L, sodium fluoride 80g/(100g core sample), sodium carbonate as grinding assistant lg, consumption of sulfuric acid 750mL, extracting temperature 100℃ and extracting time 2h. On the optimum condition, extraction percentage of potassium reached 94.028%.Crystal structure of tectosilicate like potash feldspar and zeolite and crystal structure of phyllosilicate like mica were researched. Phase of water-insoluble after extracting potassium was researched and analyzed via XRD and infra-red spectrum, and then reaction mechanism of extracting potassium was determined.
