Guizhou Province locates the central of East Asia karst region which is provided with the most complicated karst development, most completed karst types and most wide distribution area. Karst groundwater system is complicated, and bears unique characteristics of hydrogeochemistry, prominent geochemistry vulnerability and environment frangibility. Therefore, systemically, accurately studying hydrochemistry characterics of Karst groundwater and the distribution of heavy metal is beneficial to exploit groundwater reasonablely, protect water resource effectively, and father polluted groundwater.Based on the research of hydrochemistry and heavy metal geochemistry, this paper disclosed the hydrochemistry and heavy metal characteristics of Karst groundwater in Gaoping Area in Zunyi City and Guiyang City ,and analysed the corresponding influential factors. Some conclusions were obtained as the following:(1) The major element characteristics of Karst groundwater in Gaoping displayed that the hydrochemistry of this area is based on HCO3-—Ca++·Mg++ in the bottom of valley and mountain regiongs, and HCO3-·SO42-—Ca++·Mg++. in lower reaches of the Gaoping River. Simiarly Ca2+ and Mg2+ are the dominant cations, and HCO3- and SO42- are the dominent anions in Guiyang City. The weathering of evaporite, sulfateand silicate is less important . Besides stratum and hydrodynamic, acid rain, industry and human activity are key roles to the hydrochemistry differences of groundwater.(2) Based on the analysis of heavy metal (Hg,Cr,Pb,Cd,Cu,Zn,As) of Karst groundwater in Gaoping. The content of heavy metal is low, but lead and copper content is relatively high. Hydrargyrum, chrome, zinc and lead are much more in high water period than in low period; Cadmium isn't variational obviously; Arsenic isn't checkouted hardly; copper content is more high in low water period than it in high water period .The heavy metal content in Guiyang City is more serious than in Gaoping . It is obvious that the influence of human activity to the groundwater in Guiyang City is more intensive than in Gaoping.(3) The space distributions of the heavy metals(Cr, Pb,Cd,Cu,Zn) are comparatively evident in the two research regions.
