Through the analysis and comparing of varies algorithm of tool paths automatic generation techniques , tool paths automatic generation software based on space-filling curves are developed in this paper, which avoidance the residue amount question in existing traditional algorithm.The principles and algorithms of space-filling curves and offsetting curves. Further tool paths in both parameter field and surfaces are generated. Combining the algorithms of offsetting curves and space-filling curves, the problem of connecting in rectangle area is settled and its software system is developed. Some examples prove its validity and reliability.Several technical problems of the generation of tool path is studied, including the restrain about quiver during the cutting process in theory and the construction of space-filling curves with control vector solving the problems of create and join, among its various degrees based on the theory of fractals.The application of space-filling curves in the generation of tool path not only reduces both process time and damage to machine but also increases surface finish. It has extremely potential in the generation of tool paths.
