Photopolymerization is any process in which monomer or photoinitiator absorbs photons and lead to an increase of the molecular weight. It features with low activated energy for polymerization and can harvest pure polymer molecules without initiator residues, which is ideal for further applications. One-component and two-component homogeneous/heterogeneous polymerization systems share both "living" characteristics and certain controllability. On the other hand, although efforts on the synthesis of hyperbranched polymer have been made for over twenty years, the synthetic approaches are only applicable to limited monomers with special functional groups. It is of great significance to develop a new approach suitable for conventional vinyl monomers. Combining the advantages of the above three areas, this report designs a series of reaction systems: vapor/solid system, liquid/solid system and vapor/liquid/solid system; mainly studies the first one and the third one; and especially develops an approach for the synthesis of hyperbranched polymer from general monomers.
