With increasing environmental awareness and demands on the process of economic development, a kind of catalyst, which protects environment and improves economic efficiency, needs to be applied in the practically chemical industry. This kind of catalyst shows high activity, high selectivity, which allows the use of relatively small reactors and operation at mild conditions. Solid acid catalysts are the most widely used catalysts owing to their higher acid strength, thermal stability, lower reducibility, peculiar selectivity, catalytic activity, non-corrosive and environmentally benign and presenting fewer disposal problems. Their separation from liquid products is easier than the homogeneous. But most of solid acids still possess some disadvantages, for example, easy delution of active surface property of the confine the catalysts components, low mechanical strength, complexes catalyst and intricate catalytic mechanism, which to be widely used particularly, the service life of is in the practical production. The important factors during they are used how catalysts to study and tap catalysts of new type higher benefits practically. And longer service life becomes the hot topic.SO42-/ZrO2 solid acid catalyst was prepared from hydrothermally modified zirconium hydroxide. The liquid phase esterification of acetic acid with 1-butanol was preformed to confirm the optimal conditions of preparation .The influence of different factors on the reaction was studied, such as the concentration of impregnated sulphuric acids, the impregnation time and the calcined temperature. SO42-/ZrO2 solid acid catalyst through hydrothermal modification makes experiments in comparison with normal preparation method. The catalysts were characterized with XRD, BET, IR and TEM. At the same time, the influence of different factors on conversion of acetic acid was studied, such as reaction time, molar ratio of 1-butanol to acetic acid and amount of catalyst. The test results show in esterification reaction of SO42-/ZrO2 catalyst through hydrothermal modification, the optimum preparation conditions of solid acid catalyst are that the concentration of impregnated sulphuric acid is 0.5mol/L, the impregnation time isl20min, the calcined temperature is 500℃. The technological...
