Preparation And Characterization Of The Ostentatious Fireproof Coating

The expandable ostentatious fireproof coating possesses both decorative function and flame-retardant function.The fireproof coating presents a same appearance with common coating at room temperature, and can be used as decorative material. However, at high temperature caused by burning and fire, the fireproof coating would form the char layer like foam and sponge, and the volume could be expanded tens or even hundreds of times. Due to the loose character and lower heat conductivity, the char layer could protect the substrate materials from fire burning, and prevent fire occurrence or overspread, so that more time could be gotten to put out the fire.In current years, as the large-scale application of the flammable structural or decorative materials, the fearful fire emergency happened frequently to lead huge economical and property loss. The demand of high performance fireproof coatings with lower price and more ornament was sharply increased. However, there are lots of disadvantages in the fireproof coatings, such as high organic fugitive constituents, higher price, lower flame retardancy, poor water-proof performance, and instability in storage. So it is necessary to study low-cost and high performance fireproof coatings.In this thesis, the research works are focused on the preparation of expandable ostentatious fireproof coating with excellent flame retardancy by means of a convenient and low-cost technologic process.
