Compared with bulk materials, nanoscaled materials have many unique properties, such as small size effect, surface and boundary effect, quantum size effect and so on. Since the beginning of 1980's, when scientists obtained nanocrystallite for the first time, the researches on nanostructured materials have become one of the most active areas of materials science. Thanks to their weird properties, the nanostructured semiconductor materials have been widely investigated in antibacterial activities and photocatalytic degradation.In the investigation, the performance of nano-ZnO was modified by loading with Ce4+ and Ag+ respectively. The antibacterial and photocatalytic properties, as well as the effect of dispersant content on the Zeta potential of nano-ZnO and metal ions loaded behavior on nano-ZnO were investigated. The antibacterial ability was characterized by measuring the size of antibacterial circle and testing minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Then the influence factors of photocatalysis, include original concentration of methelene blue (MB), pH value, silver ion concentration, and also the photocatalysis degradation efficiency of MB were investigated. In order to overcome color degradation caused by the existence of silver ion, the Ag/ZnO composite was covered by sodium laurate.Meanwhile, nano-ZnO was coated with Vinyltriethoxysilanw (VTES) to improve its dispersing ability in non aqueous media.Finally, the microstructure was characterized by Transmission electron microscope (TEM), crystallogram was measured with X-ray...
