| With the rapid development of the numerical control technology, the NC process has got rapid development too. In the 20th century, America initially developed APT system. The system was rapidly accepted by many countries due to its merits such as high precision, understandable language, and so on. The development of computer three-dimensional software can make all kinds of NC process of three-dimensional surface be created automatically. So people can be released from heavy programme, and concentrate more and more energy on computer modelling. Some softwares such as UG ,CIMATRON,and MASTERCAM have been applied in our country.In the paper, we use a software called CIMATRON to design the NC process of automobile four-cylinder-intake-pipe. at the same time, we check manually, simulate and verify the NC procedure. Finally, we make post process and output the NC code.In the paper, we firstly introduce the correlative technology of NC and die&mold, and clarify the essential for the corporation adopting CAD/CAM system to design the die&mold. Then, the method of optimizing NC machining process for automobile four-cylinder-intake-pipe is depicted, and some optimization strategies such as the cutting manner, cutting tool, tool-path and machining parameter are introduced. finally, we design the NC process, make post processing ,and output the NC codes.
