With urban wastewater discharge expanding and relevant treatment equipments increasing, The dewatered sewage sludge generated from wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) has been a new concrete environment problem arising in the process of urbanization in China. Consequently, study on the resourceful utilization of municipal sewage sludge has become the focus of public attention. Because of its low cost of equipment and operation, low energy consumption, easy maintenance and management, fine sludge stabilization and harmless treatment, sludge fermented treatment by microorganism aerobically was proposed to be the future research focus, and widely recognized by many countries.Firstly, the principle component of the sludge from Chengdu WWTP was analyzed, and the inoculation microorganism of sludge fermentation was isolated based on biological deodorization effect, organics biodegradation rate and growth characters of the strain. Then, the sludge fermentation conditions were obtained in preliminary experiment carried in triangular flask. And in the magnified experiment, the fermentation conditions were tested and supplemented by studying parameters variaty in the fermentation process. Ultimately, the feasibility of the fermentation conditions utilized was further verified by a further pilot experiment. The results showed that the sludge fermentation procedure and obtained technics parameter could be applied in the treatment of the municipal sewage sludge from Chengdu WWTP.
