Pharmaceutical grade sucrose is often used as additive, dilute, correction and binding material in medicine industry. Owes to the impurity content of pharmaceutical grade sucrose is lower, it could reduce the interference to the main raw material, prolong the efficacious time and so make all the processes able to, even easy to control. But edible sucrose couldn't reach the standard requirement of pharmaceutical grade sucrose. As the requirement from the National Medicine Supervision and Management Administration increasing, to develop and exploit pharmacy- eutical grade sucrose is extremely urgent. We need about fifty to sixty thousand ton sucrose every year. But the demand in foreign countries is more than us. So to develop and exploit pharmaceutical grade sucrose could not only meet the requirement in our national market, to earn favorable balance in foreign exchange through exports, but also to open up a new way for Guangxi Province to intensive processing of sucrose.Based on the ready-found study on refined sucrose and the local reality of the mega-amount of white granulated sugar as the raw material in Guangxi Province, we had got a new way which coated less but was more practical. That was to get pharmaceutical grade sucrose after being discolored by activated charcoal and crystallized by alcohol.
