Inorganic nanoparticles modified Poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) have attracted much attention. However, the homogeneous dispersion of nanoparticles in polymer matrix is very difficult because they have a strong tendency to agglomerate and have poor compatibility with polymer. Inorganic nanoparticles will glomerate when it composite with polymer. In this paper, consider the practicality and cost of disquisitive product, chemical treatment is used coated the surface of inorganic nano-SiO2 in order to reduce the glomeration and achieve the best dispersion. Biaxial orientate tensile technology was used to prepare Biaxial Orientation PET, and phragmoid capability was investigaten. Correlative performance have been measured in order offer experiment proof for industrialization.Nano-SiO2 were reacted with silane coupling agent,γ-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (A-174), which have double bond in the end of molecular chain. Surface of alklaed-nano-SiO2 particles are covered with PMMA by emulsifier-free polymerization. The structure of modified particle is made of a core (SiO2) and a shell (PMMA). The effects of many factors such as amount of alkylaed-nano-SiO2, MMA , initiator, drop method of monomer and temperature etc, on emulsifier- free polymerization were investigated. The polymeric product was analyzed by FT-IR, and proved macromolecule of polymer graft to inorganic particles. SiO2-PS composite particles are prepared by emulsion polymerization. The composite was made by both melting compositing and in situ polymerization. The experiment testified the method of in situ polymerization aren't proper to prepare composite with those modified particles because the decomposition of organic substance. SiO2-PS which thermal stability is very limited can't be modified by the method of melting compositing, however SiO2-PMMA particles could.Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) was used to characterize the particle size and morphology of the composite made by blend modified particles and PET with melting compositing method. From TEM image it can be known the dispersion of SiO2-PMMA particle improved. Most SiO2-PMMA particles'...
