Titanium alloy (TC4) and high temperature alloy (GH4169) are widely applied on space and aeronautics field, however, there is further badness cutting performance . This contradiction is more and more prominent, the technology difficult problem is pressed for solving. The conventional method is usually used to the excellent cutting fluid with the agent of sulfur, chlorine and phosphor element, however, the reactant and excrement will pollute the environment and harm to operator , in cutting process, this need to find a cutting fluid with green function and better cooling and lubricating property. Water vapor has cheapness, no pollution, no recycle and excellent cooling and lubricating performance, the technology that water vapor is as coolants and lubricants in cutting is a new green cutting technology.Firstly, the cutting force experiment is researched with water vapor as coolants and lubricants in cutting TC4 and GH4169. Results show the main cutting force is reduced about 30 per cent, 25 per cent and 20 per cent compared to dry cutting, distilled water, and oil emulsion.Secondly, the wear experiment is studied in cutting TC4 and GH4169. Results show the tool flank wear is reduced about 60 percent and 25~40 percent with application of water vapor than dry cutting and oil emulsion water.Lastly, through analysis of SEM (Scanning Electronics Microscope) picture and EDS (Energy Distribution Spectrum) on tool rake face and flank face, the tool wear mechanism is discussed with water vapor as coolants and lubricants in cutting TC4 and GH4169. The adhesion wear and diffusion wear of cutter is effectively lowered with water vapor as coolants and lubricants in cutting titanium alloy TC4 and high temperature alloy GH4169. |
