The traditional lapping technique of ceramic balls, which plays the important role in precision engineering, can hardly meet the requirements of modern science and technology for limitation of sphere generation mechanism, low finishing efficiency and high cost. Therefore internal scholar presented many kinds of lapping modes, and among these modes, rotation angle active control mode owns better lapping uniformity but it is hard to apply to the science for the complexity of structure and control. Our laboratory presents dual rotation plates lapping mode which inherits the merit of lapping uniformity and simplified structure of rotation angle active control mode.The kinematical analysis of dual rotation plates lapping mode was carried out, the lapping trace was calculated and the evaluation method of the lapping surface of ball blank was introduced in the paper.
