The Synthesis Of New Color-Producing Reagents And Their Application

In this thesis two new calix[n]areneazo color-producing reagents have been designed, synthesized and characterized. At the same time, application of the compounds in spectrophotometry has been studied. The main results obtained are as follows.1. Two new calix[n]areneazo color-producing reagents are designed and synthesized.They are 2,4-dinitrophenylazocalix(4)arenes[DNPAC(4)] and 2,4-di-nitrophenylazocalix(6)arenes[DNPAC(6)]. All of them are characterized by elemental analysis, IR and ¹HNMR.2. Spectrophotometry is used for the determination of some metal ions in samples.Some conditions are discussed including the influence of pH, the influence of color-producing reagents volume, the influence of surface active agent volume, the linear range of metal ion and the influence of some interference ions.The experimental results show that the complex of DNPAC(4) to Cd²⁺, Th⁴⁺ and the complex of DNPAC(6) to Pb²⁺,Hg²⁺ have advantanges of stability,...
