The structure of compounds containing Bi and Sb are various and these compounds have significant application and wide potentials in catalyst, medicine, optics, semiconductor and so on. Synthesis compounds containing Bi and Sb and investigating on the reaction assembly rule, structure rule, properties and structure-property relationships are of great significance. In this work, we summarize the characterization of bismuth coordination polymers and antimony-oxygen cluster compounds and carried out listed work:We successfully synthesize four novel Bi oxalates and two compounds containing antimony-oxygen cluster by hydrothermal method. These compounds are listed below:(C3N2H12)[Bi(C2O4)2.5]·H2O 1(enH2)1.5[Bi3(C2O4)6(CO2CONHCH2CH2NH3)]·6.5H2O 2(C3N2H5)2[Bi2(C2O4)4(H2O)2]·2H2O 3[NH(C2H5)3][Bi3(C2O4)5] 4[{Ni(en)2}2Sb8V14O42(H2O)]·6H2O 5Sb2O3 6And we characterize their structure by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is a 2D waved layer structure and forms a 3D super-molecule through hydrogen bonds. Compounds 2-4 are all 3D open-framework structures containing channels, but they are different in oxalate coordination modes and structure. It is noteworthy that in the compound 2, the oxalate acid in the reaction mixture reacts with en to form the unusual fragments N-ethylamine oxalate monamide, which it also coordinated. The forming of amide compound may be caused by the catalysis of Bi(III) and self-assembly in hydrothermal condition. Other oxalates adopt bidentate ligand to form a 3D open-framework structure. In the compound 3, both oxalates adopt bidentate coordination mode to form a compound with 2D channels. However, two different coordination mode, i.e., bidentate and tridentate, were adopted by oxalates to form 3D structures with 1D channels of compound 4. Compound 5 is composed of [Sb8V14O42]4- cluster anions containing Sb and V atoms, and the Ni(en)22+ units connect the cluster anions to form 2D layers. Compound 6 is a new phase of Sb2O3 firstly obtained. The...
