The polysaccharides were a kind of macromolecule compounds with complicated structures. They exhibited various biological activities, and played an important role in the organism. As farming industry of polysaccharides developed fast, algar polysaccharides could produce a large amount of valuable products. With the improvement of basical research of polysaccharides, it would be the hotspot of the future research exploitation. The polysaccharides of Porphyra haitanensis from Fujian Province were extracted. The Polysaccharides were modified by alkali to get a series of different molecular weights and its distribution. The different contents and distribution of SO42- group would be gotten, by adjusting alkali concentration, temperature and time of modification, and controlling content of SO42- group . The changes in properties and structures of the agar from Porphyra haitanensis were analysed before and after the alkali-modification.1. Polysaccharides of Porphyra haitanensis were extracted in boiling water, removed from proteins by Sevag's means. The yield of material measured through physical method was 9.68%, the content of total saccharides measured through chemical methods was 46. 13%.2. To take Polysaccharides as the raw material, with the NaOH and NaBH4, regulateing alkali concentration, temperature and time of treatment of the experiment condition, so as to get a series of saccharide samples. The contents of 3, 6-AG and the viscosity of the polysaccharide were 9.30% and 0.654, respectively.3. The composition and structure of the polysaccharide were analysed...
