Mixing Reasearch Of Grooved Screw Element In Metering Section Of Plastic Injection Screw

Three dimensional flow field analysis of common and grooved screw elements in metering section of plastic injection screw is concerned. The ability of mixing and output of grooved screw elements has been analyzed. Through the experiment, the effect of grooved screw elements has been verified.Several grooving method and dimension have been considered. The geometrical models, physical models, mathematical models and FEM model have been constructed. Steady and time-dependent analyzing methods have been used for different models. Simulation has been done by the CFD software POLYFLOW. The distributions about velocity, shear rate, pressure and viscosity have been researched.Analysis of common screw element's flow field has been simulated by steady analyzing method. The common law of the flow filed has been realized.
