The influence of acrylamide concentration in ternary phase diagram of Span 80-Tween 85/Isopar M/ acrylamide aqueous solution system has been investigated to optimize polyacrylamide technics by phase transfer emulsion polymerization. Based on primary inverse emulsion polymerization, phase transfer emulsion polymerization gets the product of polyacrylamide miniemulsion, which has the character of microemulsion. In the experiment process, the main parameters are modulated as follows: proportion between aqueous phase and oil phase, compound emulsifier concentration, proportion between Span 80 and Tween 85, reaction temperature, initiators concentration etc. The main factors are investigated, such as polymerized emulsion appearance, reaction time, the storage stability of polymerized emulsion, polymer molecular weight, viscosity etc. The results are as follows:(1) The influence of acrylamide concentration on the ternary phase diagram of Span 80-Tween 85/Isopar M/ acrylamide aqueous solution system: In the microemulsion area, where emulsifiers have high concentration, a mass of the molecule of emulsifier were covered with the particle interface. Acrylamide has less influence on hydrotropic effect, which does not make for the stability of the microemulsion system. And the change of the microemulsion area is decided by the surface-active effect of acrylamide, which is in favor of stability of the microemulsion system. Therefor, to enhance the acrylamide concentration is advantage to the stability of the microemulsion .As a result, the microemulsion area is broadened in the ternary phase diagram.(2) The optimum conditions of preparing phase transfer emulsion polymerization system: compound emulsifier concentration (accounting for 2.5% the mass of emulsion system); emulsifier Span80:emulsifier Tween 85[3:1(wt/wt)]; aqueous phase:oil phase[3:1 (wt/wt)]; monomer concentration(accounting for 50% the mass of...
