With the extensive construction of reservoirs, problems of the water resources and its qualities in reservoirs has becoming more and more concerned by the world, and has been a focus of researches. The paper focus researches on two different kinds of reservoirs that the wangfenghu which is a large-scale reservoir and the xingxihu which is a medium and small-sized one. Appraised water quality condition of these two reservoirs by physico-chemical indexes and biological indexes, and made investigations of the comparison about their eutrophication features and phytoplankton community characters. The research is armed at discussing the correlation in eutrophictation features with phytoplankton species complexity and community of different kinds of reservoirs under varying environmental and hydrodynamic conditions, thereby provides theoretical data for evolution of eutrophication features and prophylactico-therapeutic measures in reservoirs.There are 4 sampling sites in wanfenghu, and 3 sites in xingxihu. Carried on researches at 5, 8, 11of 2005 respectively. Determined physical indexes such as water temperature (WT), transparence (Tran.), PH, dissolved oxygen (DO) and chemical indexes for instance total nitrogens (TN), total phosphorus (TP), chemistry oxygen depletion (COD); appraised phytoplankton species complexity; numerated phytoplankton cell density; analyzed various kinds of biological diversities.The result demonstrated that phytoplankton species complexities exist marked difference, and community constructions are different else between two reservoirs. Wanfenghu reservoir has been polluted seriously, and waters are in a severe eutrophication condition. Whether physico-chemical indexes or biological indexes appraisal, it proved that the water quality of Wanfenghu is between IV-V. Wanfenghu contains high TN and TP which are 5 to 6 times of the national standard content, and the quantities construction of phytoplankton communities is deeply disequilibrium, the Cyanophyta and Charophyta occupying overwhelming...
