Nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA) particles have been prepared via wet chemical synthesis. The present thesis studies the effect of size of hydroxyapatite (HA) nano particles dealt by different age process and the dispersing of HA in different age processes in which polyethylene glycol (PEG) is added. The effect of PEG addition on the nucleation and growth of HA crystals is studied. Results indicate that n-HA particles are prone to aggregate after wet chemical synthesis and the dispersing of n-HA particles in aqueous solution could be improved through the addition of PEG. Particle size of HA increases with the post-treatment in the following order: aged at room temperature and pressure< boile in air |
