This paper gives a brief introduction of the characteristics, sources and quantity of sintering dust and iron & steel sludge as well as the present disposal technologies used in this field. Some disposal methods are introduced and their shortcomings are pointed out. New processes for waste disposal are suggested, that is, sintering dust is used again in production after it is made into pulp through newly built apparatus and, the iron & steel sludge with less water is added to the charge mixture of sinters through screw propeller transmitter and that with more is used as water source to make pulp from disposed dust.This paper also focuses on the equipment that makes pulp from sintering dust and it gives a brief introduction of selected equipment and the characteristics. The internal structure of some equipment is displayed with pictures. This paper discusses problems in actual operation and new equipment selection to ensure stable production. Afterwards, how measures are implemented to ensure stable production of reformed process is briefly introduced.On this basis, the paper contrasts the elements of then and before that affect production and proves that the reformed process has a positive effect. Many problems in production have been solved and the quality of the products is greatly raised. It is also useful for environmental protection. This tells that reformation has reached the expected goal.This technology is the first in this field in China and it is in harmony with relevant policies and laws. It brings good economic, social and environmental benefits. Clean production and reuse of wastes is implemented with this technology and dust can be used on and on stably. The second dust nuisance is reduced and quality and output of sinter is raised tremendously. It is also of help for sintering production with charge of low water content and thick level. The implementation of this technology is a revolution in dust disposal and it is the first in the country. There are only a few plants that use similar technology in China, but it does not work well. These include pipe blockage and too many accidents. More serious is that, there is neither advanced centralized controlling system of sludge density, flow rate, liquid level controlling nor that of water measurement and controlling. This technology does not use the traditional method for dust disposal. Instead, it is an entirely new process for dust disposal. The successful development and application of this technology sets an example for other enterprises in reformation with new technology. It is of great meaning for popularization and application in the sintering industry.
