Wastewater Reclamation Projects Study In Shenzhen River& Bay Catchment

Abstract/Summary:
In order to solve the problem of water pollution in Shenzhen River& Bay Catchment and to reach the water quality target that is surface water quality standard Class V, reclaimed water is as the solution suggested in the dissertation. It can not only reduce the load of pollution but also increase the capacity of the Catchment. It satisfied with the sustainable development requirements.Pollution loads of each wastewater treatment plants and rivers are predicted in the dissertation at different interception ratios in different standard years. Shenzhen River& Bay Catchment water quality model is built according to measured datum. Prediction results of the pollution loads as the primary conditions, water quality target and the total wastewater as the constraints, assuming different reclaimed water's quality, environmental water demands are obtained through the model for each river, which are the supply water for each river to solve the pollution problem. Thus reclaimed water's quality can be obtained. Through the classification and quantity and quality analysis of the users of reclaimed water, the quantity of each wastewater treatment plants can be decided in different standard years. Wastewater treatment procedure is the key point studied in the dissertation. After comparison of different processes, aeration biological filter plus biological activated carbon filter is the recommended process. Ultraviolet disinfection is the recommended disinfection method. Luofang Wastewater Treatment Plant is as the study case to design the process. The investment and the comprehensive benefit of the Project are analyzed. The inner and outer conditions that can help the Project are also analyzed in the dissertation. According to the analysis of constraints to the Project, countermeasures are proposed.This study combining the practice and theory research has the positive significance on solving the problem of water pollution in Shenzhen River& Bay Catchment.
