Linear friction welding is a crucial technology for developing high push-weight ratio aero-engine. It has been researched severely since eighties of last century aboard, but its development stays at starting stage home. So it is very necessary to begin the research of linear friction welding machine and corresponding control system for promoting aero-manufacturing technology in our country. In this thesis, a set of single-chip controlled system with 89C52 as core for vapor-pressure type linear friction welding machine is finished. The hardware circuits and software programme are designed, three control modes have been put forward , such as time-control, deformation-control and power-peak control. Each of solution realizes automatic control in linear friction welding. Also, a way of calculating non-sine signals' root-mean-square is adopted, The transferring factor K between voltage and current of driving motor and their corresponding A/D sampling values have been obtained. This promises the real-time sampling and display of friction heating power in welding process. The hardware and software of single-chip controlled system designed in the thesis have been analoguely-tested successful, the control system has been used in spot welding craft experiment of GH4169 and LC9 materials and so on. The tensile-strength of weldments can reach 90 % above of their base metal. All tested results indicate that the hardware and software of the single-chip controlled system for vapor-pressure type linear friction welding machine are right, the control methods are feasible. Control system can meet various materials' welding requirements and has important engineering application values.
