Study On The Theory And Experiment Of A Novel Cellular PET Foaming Fiber

The foamed material has many performances such as light weight, heat insulation, sound insulation, cushing, low cost and so on, so it has been used in national economy and daily life more and more. However, in recent years, owing to destroying the ozone layer of the nature by using CFC and "white pollution" to the environment caused by the waste products which are not difficult to be recycled, the UN environment-protection organization decided to stop to produce and use foamed PS all over the world from the year of 2005.The polyester has excellent capability in physics, chemistry and the mechanism. Since the industrialization, it has been broadly used in the national economy. The non-textile PET fiber is mainly used for PET film, packing, engineering plastics, coating, bond and so on. PET fiber has good properties of wearing, and the price is low. So PET fiber is extremely used and developed quickly. The needs of daily lives and industry can not be satisfied by the normal polyester in some fields, and some special PET fibers are expected.According to the studies that has been done in this field, the theoryand experiment of a novel cellular PET foaming fiber has been studied in this paper. The main results are as follows:At present, the methods for preparing cellular polymers are mainly as follows: thermo induced phase separation, monomer polymerization, compression fluid anti- solvent precipitation and ultra gas saturating. In this paper, the method of ultra saturating gas is employed. The inert gas (N2) was saturated in the polymer under a high pressure, forming a gas -polymer homogeneous system, and then the pressure vessel was discharged and the polymer/gas solutions were foamed in a temperature controlled medium. The effect of the cellular processing on the cell properties of PET fiber is investigated by the polymer structures, the methods, the mechanism and the change of processing parameters, such as pressure, saturation time, foaming temperature, and foaming time. A new way of preparing cellular fibers has been developed and the theory basement of that has been set.
