Yinqiao Capsulation is a Chinese traditional medical prescription classified by State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) as new Chinese traditional medicine type 8. The prescription of Yinqiao capsule is originated from classical ancient books on medicine"Wenbing Tiaobian", Written by famous doctor Wu Jutong in Qing Dynasty. It was called"Yinqiao powder". It was prescribed: Flos Lonicerae, Frucyus Forsythiae, Harba Menthae, Herba Schizonepetae, Semen Sojae Preparatum, Fructus Actii, Radix Platycodi, Herba Lophatheri, Common Lopatherum Herb, Radix Glycyrrhizae. Action:To induce diaphoresis, remove heat and counteract toxicity. Indications: Upper respiratory infection with fever, headache, cough, dryness of the mouth and sore throat. To develop a simple, feasible and repeatable quality standard is very important to make sure that the medicine is safe, stable, and its quality is controlled. The regulation of SFDA required how to develop a quality standard in detail particularly. The objective of this research is developing a quality standard of Yinqiao capsule based on the national regulation.Chromatography is one of the most popular used and fastest spread analytic methods in Chinese traditional medicine researching. After more than one hundred years of developing there are many kinds of Chromatography. The chromatography has very effective capacity of separation and adoption. The common methods of chromatography includes: TLC, GC, HPLC, HPCE, HSCCC, SFC, CD, etc. Among these methods, the most useful methods are thin layer chromatography (TCL)and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Applying TCL, appropriate fixed phase should be put on a piece of glass, plastic or foundation AI With mobile phase, corresponding the reference drug solution with same procedure it can be obtained same spots. HPLC is an effective, fast analysis and separation method which developed in 70th, 20 century. It's still used commonly currently. In this paper, we choose TCL to identify Flos Lonicerae, Frucyus Forsythiae, Harba Menthae, Herba Schizonepetae, Semen Sojae Preparatum, Fructus Actii, Radix Platycodi, Herba Lophatheri, Common Lopatherum Herb, and Radix Glycyrrhizae by TCL.
