Some studies are made on the extrusion forming technology of magnesium alloy AZ31tube.First, through isothermal compression experiment, the warm forming speciality ofmagnesium alloy material AZ31 is studied systematically. The deformation rate, deformationtemperature, and deformation extent l are analyzed emphatically the affecting of deformationresistance, and mechanics performance of material. The plasticity deformation strengthreduces with rising of temperature and reducing of strain rate. Base on above, adoptingregression method and computer processing data, the deformation resistance mathematicsmodel is attained, which offers basis for choosing isothermal extrusion forming technologyparameter and computer simulation.Through numerical simulation of finite element method (FEM), the course of extrusionof magnesium alloy tube is simulated. The forming of the blank, strain rate , deformationtemperature, deformation extent, and friction are discussed which impact equivalent strain,equivalent stress and extrusion force. The math model of the material resistance of theisothermal compression experiment is establish, witch is coupled into MSC/Superform. Theforming procession of extrusion of the magnesium tube is taken as an objection, and the effecton forming procession of parameter is studied, and a theory and technology sustain issupplied for optimizing extrusion of magnesium tube.The simulation results show that the plastic deformation of magnesium alloy is sensitiveto the deformation temperature and the deformation speed. Through comprehensive analysisof extrusion process, the best forming conditions is at temperature 350℃, at deformation rate0.01s-1. In the forming process, the mold and the blank need preheat and the attemperator. Atthe same time, oil base graphite is selected as the lubricant which makes an important role fordecreasing forming temperature and improving mold life.Base the above research, the extrusion of thin wall tube is simulated. According to theforming result, the blank shape and the mold structure are designed feasibly, the metal flowsevenly, the effect of fills is good, the forming accuracy of the extrusion tube is high, theroughness of surface of extrusion is low, and the quantity of eccentricity of the tube is small.
