The super target of the rapid fabrication accomplished by rapid prototyping (RP) is that ametal part with the high function and complex shape is quickly fabricated using rapidprototyping, and this process has a very wide application in future. Especially, making metalparts using selective laser sintering (SLS) system is bright in future among the commercial RPsystems. This is also a hot and difficult problem in the world. A coated metal powder can besintered to fabricate indirectly a metal part at abroad. The coated metal powder is commercialin the developed country. But the material company holds the technology and keeps thematerials and processes secret, the indirect process couldn't be applied and held in our country. The main purpose of this dissertation concentrates to study the post-treatment of thepolymer-coated molybdenum powder formed by SLS. The major research contents andachievements include:The debinding and sintering technology of prototype fabricated with the polymer-coatedmolybdenum powder was studied. We had drew the following conclusions through themassive debinding experiment: the debinding elevation of temperature critical velocity(Vc)scope should be 200℃/h≤V_c < 250℃/h;the debinding critical heat preservationtemperature(Tc) scope should be 250℃
