Water extracted liquid and alcohol extracted liquid of Kangnaoshuai capsule were dealt with ceramic membrane ultrafitration, according to the composition of extracted liquids of traditional china medicine. The effective component was enriched and the un-wanted large molecules were removed in this method. The optimum operation conditions were also determined in this experiments, such as the intercept molecular weight of ceramic membrane, the parameters of ultrafiltration and the way to clean ceramic membrane. At the same time, we established several HPLC methods for determining the content of paeoniflorin, puerarin and baicalin, respectively, and also a TLC method for Radix Ophiopogonis identification. A mathematical model on flux of ultrafiltration has been set up on the basis of experimental data. According to the variety of membrane fouling resistance, the simulation was divided into the following two parts: (1) in the initial phase (2) in the stable phase The results indicated that the calculation were coupled with the experiment data well, even in the initial phase. The experimental results indicated that it is an effective way to deal with water extracted liquid and alcohol extracted liquid of the Kangnaoshuai capsule with ceramic membrane (300KD) firstly, and then the sample was refined by the membrane (80KD) and membrane (50KD), respectively. The optimum operation is carried out under 0.25 MPa and 50 ℃ for ultrafiltration process. The suitable method to clean up the membrane is to purify the ceramic membrane until no solid impurities was found firstly, then the purification with 2.0 wt% NaOH for 40 minutes at 80℃, finaly, the purification with 2.0 wt% HNO3 for 30 minutes at 50 ℃ were carried out. Thus flux of ultrafiltration can be recovered to 100%.
