The development of VI(virtual instrument) was a great progress in measurement technology. VI was a new development aspect of instrument technology, and an important field of information technology. The whole development of science and technology, industrial application would be affected by this technology. The concept—the software is the instrument, and its realization made the collection,transmission, analyzing, processing, storing and publishing of the information automatic.Some theoretic analysis of different methods of measuring the inclination angle of platform was introduced, weighing sensor was chosen to measure the inclination angle, and the corresponding hardware was designed and established. The DRVI(Dynamic Reconfigurable Virtual Instrument), the concept of software bus and EPP(Enhanced Parallel Port)communication method were introduced, and the virtual measurement of inclination angle of platform was proposed. The virtual measurement system of the inclination angle of platform was constructed by DRVI.The measurement data which was acquired through the experiment was analyzed, and after analyzing the error of all the parts of this virtual measurement system, a practical error compensation method was proposed. By error compensation, quite precise data was obtained, and the feasibility of this measurement method was validated. After comparing and analyzing the result, the sensor, which had better precision, was chosen to construct the virtual measurement system of the inclination angle of the platform. And the data processing and error compensation were implemented by software, so that the inclination angle of the platform could be obtained directly, cheaply, and rapidly.Experiments implied that the method of using weighing sensor to implement virtual measurement of the inclination angle of platform was reasonable. Two weighing sensors had the parallel relative error, and the regularity of the error appeared obviously. After the error compensation, the error of the inclination angle measurement by two sensors was strongly reduced, the precision of measurement reached a high level, and it could meat the need of practical engineering measurement.The whole measurement system, including the data collection and control, the data analysis and processing, the data expression, the panel of the VI, was implemented by software. The virtual measurement system for other parameters could be developed on the bench of DRVI. The cost of instrument would be greatly reduced and the method of virtual measurement would be used widely.
