Abstract/Summary:
In this study, removal of trace quantity of BTFX from CO2 stream with adsorption method by using actived carbon has been studied, and the core of the job are listed as follows:1. The investigation on removal of BTEX with activated carbons from inert gases and CO2.Forstly, the activated carbons were selected by examing the performance of removing BTEX from inert gases, and then these activated carbons were studied on remove BTEX from CO2. The influence of the pressure, flow rate, temperature on the removal of BTEX has been studied. The fruit active carbon showed better performance than the others. It was showed that the diameter of fruit activated carbon molecule is bigger a little than diameter of the benzene molecule, so the benzene can go into the inner aperture of the carbon and at the same time the capillary agglomerate could arise in aperture of activated carbon. That improve the benzene adsorbability on fruit active carbon.Because some aperture of activated carbon were holden by CO2, the benzene adsorbability was decreased. It was also showed that higher pressure and lower temperature could improve the adsorbability of benzene in activated carbon.2. A study on removal of low concentration BTEX with modified activated carbons. There were two different methods to modify the activated carbon: one was modified byremoving impurities using both acid and alkali treatments to modify the fruit active carbon to improve the benzene adsorbability. The other method was modification of the fruit carbon with cations of transition metals, and the the benzene adsorbability on fruit active carbon improved through changing chemical environment on active carbon surface. It was showed that benzene adsorbability on the modified active carbon using 10% acid and alksli treatment for 9 hours would be the best;the second method was based on the first method. The benzene adsorbabilityon the modified active carbon that impregnated with Fe2+ for 24 hours showed the best result.3. Methods of regeneration of deactivated carbon.A study on regeneration of deactivated carbon by using heat flow gas has been studied. The influence of pressure, flow rate, temperature on the removal of BTEX has been examed. It was showed that lower pressure and higher temperature were better for the removel of thebenzene from the deactivated carbon. CO2 have been used for the regeneration of deactivated carbon, which could remove benzene. Efficient regeneration can be done at normal pressure, 250 "C, and the time of regeneration was under 120 mins.It was an economical way to use CO2 as a regeneration gas.4. Design and operation of experimental apparatus for middling test.An experimental apparatus for middling test has be designed and built, based on experimental data. These basal data were very useful for enhancing the performance of the adsorbent and industry utilization.5.Project plan and investment analysis. It was showed that removal of low concentration of BTEX with adsorption method in activated carbon could reach the standard for edible CO2. It could be created huge benefit in economy and environment through improving the recovery of CO2.
