| Electrostatic precipitator is one of the dust-precipitated equipments whichis the most effective and most widely used. It is feasible to get more accurateand visual results as the development of the computer science and theapplication of the numerical simulation. The modeling of the electrostaticprecipitator has been an important assistant of designing, evaluating andstudying electrostatic precipitators.This paper has studied the application of the numerical computationalsoftware PHOENICS in electrostatic precipitators, built the mathematical-physical model and constructed the control equations and boundary conditionssuitable to the software, then solved it assisted by PHOENICS. The visual resultsare shown through the charts, and the characteristics of the dust concentrationdistribution in electrostatic precipitators are obtained. The collection efficiencyis an important parameter of electrostatic precipitators. This paper has alsostudied how the voltage, wind velocity and distance of discharge electrodesinfluence the collection efficiency. And the computational results are nearlyequal to the experimental result, which proves that the model and the settings ofparameters are accurate and reasonable.This paper has synthesized the theory of the collection efficiency inelectrostatic precipitator and the numerical computational software PHOENICS,and simulated the process of electrostatic precipitation. It will be assistant forthe study of electrostatic precipitation, especially the study of numericalsimulation in the field. |
