Recently, With the globalization of antiterrorism and increase of the safety sense, personal safety has become a very important thing around the world, resulting in the rapid development of body armors. In many countries the use of gun is prohibited very strictly, and the threat from knives and stabs is the main danger. Therefore, as one of the important personal protective material, stab-resistant body armor is getting more and more attention. Nowadays there are many studies about the exploitation of stab-resistant product, but most of them are single structure material, and there is little analysis about stab-resistant mechanism.To excogitate an international advanced and internal leading stab-resistant body armor, the test stab is designed in this thesis colligate standard stabs in GA68-2003 Standard and NIJ Standard -0115.00, with the main dimension same as GA68-2003 Standard and having edge same as NIJ Standard. The testers for fabric stab-resistant performance testing in this paper include dynamic stab-resistant tester, which was self-designed and manufactured, and static stab-resistant tester, which was altered from burst tester.Based on the review of the present literature, UHMWPE(Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) was chosen as stab resistant material. Low twist high density woven fabric was designed and manufactured to be the main impact-energy absorber. The dynamic and static stab-resistant ability of the three structures of UHMWPE, Woven in high strength, Non-woven, UD, was tested and compared, this thesis put forword to the idea of the weft knitted compositestab-resistant fabrics. Due to the result of dynamic and static stab-resistant testing on composite of Woven, Non-woven and UD, the best composite method was chosen. The stab resistant armor made with this composite is in great advantage in local market.This thesis also put forword to the idea of coating with abrasive particles on woven fabric, which was the first time being considered in internal stab resistant field. Different abrasive particles was provided on the woven carrier by different adhesive to get the most suitable composite.After studying the difference between bullet proof and stab resistance and analyzing the test result, the stab-resistant performance and stab-resistant mechanism of each kind of fabric in detail is also studied in this paper. The project belongs to the scope of the international hot study, which lays a foundation for research of personal body armors.
