The Research Of Applying Near Infrared Spectroscopy Technique In Traditional Chinese Medicine Manufacturing

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is facing serious problems to become a kind of modern medicine accepted by the world. In order to make TCM quality consistent and homogeneous, how to actualize the quality control of TCM manufacturing process effectively and scientifically is becoming bottleneck of TCM modernization development.The Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) analysis, a new high-efficiency analytical technique, which can be conducted at simple operation with time-saving, high accuracy, pollution free, repeatability and easy on-line analysis, has been widely used in lots of areas, such as agriculture, food industry and petrochemical engineering. The applications of NIRS in quality control of TCM manufacturing process are studied in this thesis.Firstly, NIRS analysis was proposed to determine the content of naringin and neohesperidin in the extracting process of Fructus Aurantii in this paper, and it showed the content trend of effective component. The results showed the application of NIRS in the extracting process of TCM is possible.Secondly, NIRS was proposed for fast detection the content of naringin and neohesperidin during the purification process of Fructus Aurantii. Partial least squares (PLS) was applied to build the calibration models, and contents of constituents were determined by HPLC as reference values. The results show the operation is convenient and the results are credible.At last, NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy was used to determine the effective contents of paeoniflorin, naringin and neohesperidin of Xuefuzhuyu preparation. Partial least squares (PLS) was applied to build the calibration models, and contents of paeoniflorin, naringin and neohesperidin were determined by HPLC. The results show that the proposed method has a good stability and can be applied to fast detection in industrial process.In a word, the application of NIRS in TCM has a good potential and it will help to settle some problems in the modernization of TCM.
