| This paper studies the concoction technique of special type waxes (STWs) usingthe base wax from the Nanyang Wax Fine Chemical Plant (NWFCP), Henan Province,China, as the raw material. The purpose is to increase the added values and theirmarket shares through developing new products of fine STW, thus enhance theenterprise's competitive capacity, in order to take advantage of the high concentrationof waxes in the crude oil refined by NWFCP.The techno-economic feasibility of a STW concocting device is establishedthrough a thorough wax market analysis, both international and domestic. Based onresults from lab research, a prototype industrial production is conducted to test theprocess flow and facilities for various kinds of STWs such as those for explosive,mulsified wax, casting wax, and rubber-protective wax, etc.. Through experimentingand analyzing various components and factors, procedures and patterns of the STWproduction are generalized and summed up. Moreover, a STW concocting device isdesigned and constructed with the objectives of achieving a logical process flow forindustrial production, affordable project cost for economic investment, reliableproduction equipment that is easy to operate, as well as a high flexibility in productionadjustment.Currently both the domestic STW market and its mass production are at an initialstage. Therefore, not only has the success of this study and prototype industrialproduction laid down a firm scientific foundation for the construction of a STWconcocting device in NWFCP, but also it has filled the gap in domestic STW'sindustrial production. Consequently, this study is a pioneer and trail-blazer in STWchemical engineering in China, and has not only accumulated precious experience,both theoretical and practical, for the further development of STW concoctingtechniques, but also provided an important model for other oil refining enterprises tofollow. |
