This paper dealt with the isolation and purification of the standard of ginsenosideRb3 from Panax notoginseng folium, hoping to get the purity of ginsenoside Rb3which can settle the foundation for the quantitative analysis.The crude extract of Panax notoginseng folium was separated by reversed phasepreparative liquid chromatography. The effect of sample quality, the size of columns,composing, construction and flow rate of mobile phase in the separation process wereinvestigated respectively. The suitable chromatography conditions were determined.The content of ginsenoside Rb3 in the product was above 98%, and which of Rc isabove 92%.The effect of measures of different detectors, composing and construction inseparation process of raw material and products were investigated for determining aprecise, credible quantitative analytical chromatography conditions. The investigationcan be gone on wheels by the suitable chromatography conditions.The external reference method was determined in order to analyzing quantitativelyginsenoside Rb3 and Rc of the crude extract of Panax notoginseng folium, and therange of detection was gained.The process for isolation and purification of standard of ginsenoside Rb3 describedhere was simple and effective. The external reference method of quantitative analysisof ginsenoside Rb3 and Rc in the crude extract of Panax notoginseng folium waseffective and credible. The development of this method had an important meaning onthe mass control of crude extract of Panax notoginseng folium.
