The paper analyses and researches some problems in cold drawing craft of steel tube during practical production. Due to the sophistication of metal flow law in the process of cold drawing, as reciprocal coupling process including nonlinear problems of geometry, material and boundary, it is researched inadequately recently. For example the maximal stress of transverse fissure and longitudinal fission, optimum die angle etc. However, using numerical simulation of three-dimensional dynamic may solve this problem.The main work in this paper includes: 1. ANSYS/LS-DYNA software has been used to establish three-dimensional finite element model aiming at empty-sunken steel tube, tube plug drawing mill and floating plug drawing. According to practical situation, boundary treatment, loading and dynamic modeling of steel tube have been done. The result is more close to practice and covers the insufficiency of two-dimensional problems simplified by most scholar. 2.Based on the steel tube axial, circumferential and radial stress distribution regularities, the cause of transverse fissure, longitudinal fission and trembling mark in three drawing mode during practical production is analyzed. Meanwhile, field quantity distribution at any time is acquired. The insufficiency of research based on some time is overcome and it provides basis for better solving produce problem. 3. Drawing force may be divided into several phases according to distribution law of drawing force in three drawing mode. And empty-sunken steel tube and tube plug drawing mill are compared and analyzed. The same and different section in the process of drawing is obtained. The result provides reference for selecting cold drawing mode. 4. It is seldom reported formerly about processing parameter and drawing force. The paper gains the influence relation with friction factor, die angle and wall thickness. The result supplies the criteria with the optimum design of cold drawing craft. 5.Appropriate matching die angle is established in floating plug drawing.
