In this paper, based on the feature of Length-alterable Line-scanning Laser rapid prototyping system and point-scanning Laser rapid prototyping system, the selective laser sinter (also called SLS) is suit to medium-small parts and selectable material is abroad, so to study it is of practical meanings. To provide methods for the study of laser rapid prototyping system based on polar coordinates, especially it apply to featheredge spheroid parts; The make-up of SLS rapid prototyping system based on polar coordinates is discussed specifically, the study includes the following contents: the hardware structure and software constitute of the Length-alterable Line-scanning Laser rapid prototyping system, graphical process of rapid prototyping system, processing planning of machining parameter.In this paper, the principle of the Length-alterable Line-scanning laser rapid prototyping system is disserted. combining the speciality of Length-alterable rapid prototyping system, the general architecture of the system hardware and the software constitute are researched and disserted comprehensively. Functions of Graphical processing software, one of the important constitution parts in the rapid prototyping system, are analyzed in following aspects: the capturing method of mould, the error diagnosing to STL files, the graphical display and edition of three dimensions mould. It involves further in direct layering processing rapid prototyping software based on CAD mould. Namely AutoCAD software is developed more. Influences of the selection of layering parameter to processing efficiency and quality are used for reference. A kind of layering processing optimization method suitable to the length-alterable and the idea that a self-adapting layering thickness optimization based on layering manufacturing technics are quoted previously. The scanning process mathematical models based on polar coordinates is established, laid on the foundation of the scanning processing mathematical models of the Length-alterable Line-scanning and point-scanning Laser rapid prototyping system based on cartesian coordinates. In this paper mechanism model of the effect of the laser scanning line to material processed in the length-alterable line-scanning laser rapid prototyping system is built, and the match method of laser power with the length of scanning line is studied deeply. All factors which effect the processing efficiency of point-scanning and line-scanning system is analyzed, and processing efficiency of the kinds of systems are compared theoretically.
