The transmission gearbox of distributor chute on BF top is a key equipment of iron plant. It's condition concern the normal production of iron-smelting directly .Although the design of the equipments is very careful and the overhaul is getting stronger ,the accidental fault is still unavoidable. The production practices is showing that It is essential for gearbox to monitor online. By analysing the signal , We can prevent trouble before it happened and change maintaining regularly into foreseeing maintaining. The article first explained the development of fault diagnosis and the basic principle of diagnoses technology briefly. Secondly, by calculating the kinematics of the transmission system, the important meaning is expound in disposing gear system rationally. Then, the hardware and software of the practical monitoring system is recommended as well as the operation framework. Since the system was put into use ,the various kinds of fault phenomena were collected and arranged. We have used the unusual signal monitored to differentiate several greater accidents while the fault take place. Realized the deficiency of the frequency spectrum analysis in gearbox,, and the wavelet analysis has incomparable advantage compared with the ordinary frequency spectrum analysis in non-stationary field. Finally the wavelet analysis is used in vibration signal gotten from on-line monitor system when the tooth of gear is broken, and we got very good result.
